hey everybody, i'm back. i know i promised to ran
t about a guy i worked with, and well, i'm going to right now!!!
ok, i know almost everyone out there has a co-worker exactly like this. why is it that someone who is infinitely smart is also infinitely a
dumbass? i still haven't figured that one out. how can a person who has an iq vastly larger than my own also have a very small percentage
of the common sense of a 5 year old?
my example of this person is someone who professes to be an expert in his field and won't hesitate to give examples from 'back in the day'
or go into some obscure, detailed technical description that only the most supreme ubergeeks can begin to comprhend. with all this vast
knowledge and experience, it still baffles me how this guy cannot follow simple 4 step instructions for a procedure and then complain about
the procedure being flawed for not working correctly. the most amazing thing i've seen this guy pull off is when a project manager asked if a
task had been completed yet, the response he got was "Are you f*cking kidding me?" no bullshit. this sort of response would be ok in a laid
back, friendly environment, but believe me, the relationship between this guy and the project manger is less than friendly.
he also is the worst pessimist i have ever met. anytime an idea is brought up that requires any amount of effort, he begins to think of
reasons why it won't work instead of thinking of ways to make it work. one last thing that bothers me is how a task that any average intern
could do in a matter of minutes seems to take him a matter of days. if i was the HMFIC (head mo fo in charge), i would have found a
replacement for this person a long time ago.
i've babbled on long enough. i need to get my rest so i'm fresh and attentive when i go find out if i still have a job tomorrow. what? i'll save
that one for a later rant. for now, good night my children. dream of large women.
